These collage pieces are attempts at puzzle-solving using scraps of paper - images that come from newspapers, old magazines, books, junk mail, old calendars, playbills, wine bottle labels, and packing materials - materials in their most mundane and forgotten form that are given a "second chance" as they find a home in new works of art.

The work toggles between a perspective of our grandeur and smallness, feeling both the enormity of our task of finding a new way to live and relate, and the importance/non-importance of each individual human effort.

This work invites us to consider even our relationship to paper itself - rooted in trees, fundamental in human history for sharing ideas, used and now largely forgotten in the tech-dominated virtual world. By using "forgotten papers" we encounter a concrete proof of our own materiality, inclusive of both our precious individuality and our utter ordinariness.
